Bourgogne Blanc Marc Dudet

The older the better? Nope. Some wines mature and acquire complexity and character with age, but at some point most will deteriorate. I think this wine may have reached it’s zenith a while ago; it was quite good – but at £11 a bottle you can do better – at M&S go for Vin Alta Chardonnay from Argentina (£8.50).

Marc Dudet Pouilly-Fuisse from Waitrose is reviewed here  https://atimeforwine.blog/2017/07/09/pouilly-fuisse-marc-dudet-waitrose/

Tasting notes: Straw coloured. Dry, unoaked, with citrus notes. Quite complex, intriguing wine. Short finish. Some minerality. Slightly creamy texture. Not worth £11, presumably that is why it’s discounted. OK for £8 – better at under £6!
