Trivento may be the global market leader in Argentinian wines but they have real competition in the £8-£10 bracket, especially from this Chardonnay. Santa Julia is from the Zuccardi brand. We first tasted Zuccardi in Argentina last year and immediately loved their Chardonnays. Waitrose have a ‘buy any 3 bottles get 25% off’ deal and coupled with a ‘My Waitrose’ spend £30, get £6 off deal, we managed to pick this up for £5.21 a bottle. An utter bargain for such good wine! BUY!
Tasting notes: Straw coloured. Has an inviting nose. Dry, unoaked, fruit forward – with tropical fruit notes. Quite complex, intriguing wine. Very good length of finish. Some minerality. Slightly creamy texture. Very good wine.
