Tasting Notes:
Exclusive to Co-op. I like Pinot Grigio. Most of the world likes Pinot Grigio – indeed it is the world’s favourite white wine. Bizarrely it’s also the world’s most faked wine; hundreds of thousands more bottles of Italian Pinot Grigio are sold than produced…
Most Pinot Grigio is good, although I had some nasty stuff from Waitrose (not Italian, Hungarian I think, but craftily on the shelf with the Italian wines) recently. We had some strikingly good Argentinian Pinot Grigio in Mendoza and have found two good bottles widely available in the UK, one in M&S and this one from Co-op (who stock some very good wines). They have stocked this for several years now, and the 2016 has won a good number of accolades.
This wine is fruity, party wine – more complex than most Italian Pinot Grigios and worth spending £2 more than the bog-standard bottles.
