This is decent Chenin Blanc and good value at only £7.99. Yet again I must express my wish that it had ‘Fairly Traded’ credentials…
Tasting notes: Primary notes of stone fruits. Tertiary notes of vanilla. Balance acidity. Medium finish, a little complexity, Crisp, dry wine. White stone fruit notes. Hints of vanilla from oak.
Wine Colour – White
Price – £7.99
Where do I get it from? Virgin Wines
Current Vintage – 2019
Producer – Bruce Jack
Grape – 100% Chenin Blanc
Region/Country – Western Cape/South Africa
Verdict – Perfectly acceptable wine for the price. Would have had a better rating had it been certified as fairly traded.
Food Pairing: This would go well with mildly spiced foods especially Thai curries or ramen.
