It’s been a while! After a sabbatical I’m back to writing. My sabbatical has involved much travel; France, Spain, Austria (twice), USA, Germany – and a number of countries which don’t produce wine. I also took two WSET courses and attended a number of tastings – totalling hundreds of wines. I was invited to Paris to taste a producer’s wines and to the London Wine Fair. I have had a couple of wine trade approaches, which I considered… but ultimately decided to remain as independent as possible. The reviews on this site are entirely free from commercial interference; I’m not an ‘influencer’ who receives payment to promote wines. Most of the wines I write about have been bought and paid for – although I accept submissions for honest appraisal. Following my WSET qualifications I have adapted my approach to tasting and reviewing wine and my education in wine continues. I will continue to include price as a factor in my final verdict on a wine. Expect future articles to include lots of readily available wines, plus a few more expensive wines to consider for special occasions. I have tasted a few horrors but many more acceptable, good and outstanding wines. I will be writing about ‘wine club’ wines too and also the experience of taking WSET courses.
I hope the wait has been worth it – now atimeforwine…
