I thought that this was good Sauvignon Blanc. Very good value at £6.75 at the moment and in my opinion gives The Ned a run for it’s money in this category. This had none of that ‘pissy’ aroma that some prize in Sauvignon Blancs, but which I (understandably, I think) find revolting.

Tasting notes: Initially detected some sharp, fruit notes. Hints of citrus fruits, but the dominant note was gooseberries. There was a crisp acidity to it. Good texture. Dry.

Wine Colour – White
Price – £8 – reduced to £6.75 at the moment.
Where do I get it from? Sainsburys
Current Vintage – 2017
Producer – Brancott Estate
Grape – 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Region/Country – Marlborough
Points – 88
Food Pairing: This would go well with the usual chicken and fish dishes and has the acidity to cut through creamier sauces.
