Puglia Rosso – Marks & Spencer

blog 88

I fully expected this Pugliese red to be a Primitivo, however according to the label it’s a Negroamoro, although one newspaper reviewer said it was a blend of the two grapes… Who to believe? Well the review was in the Daily Mail… I like Puglia – with its witches hat trulli houses, olive groves and delicious food (we stayed in an agroturismo and ate Nonna’s home-made food each day – every meal was exceptional). This wine was easy, pleasurable drinking and is credited to Jeneve Williams who is brilliant at choosing and blending wines.

Tasting notes: Soft, fruity. Easy drinking with good texture. Notes of blackcurrant. A little acidity makes it a good partner to BBQ meats.
